Quite a cosy mystery and it was fairly obvious from quite early on exactly what was going on, the story moved slowly and really read like the middle of a series where the author was setting up some issues for later and wrapping up some loose issues from earlier.

Harrison Black was looking forward to kayaking in the morning before going to work, what he didn't count on was finding the body of his ex-girlfriend floating in the water. The Cops count it as suicide, he's not convinced.
