Pretty entertaining read with witty prose. I thought that I had figured out who was the murderer and I was right! Good read. ( )

I had never read any of this series before. I found it easy to understand the story without knowing what had happened in previous books. It was an enjoyable story and I will read more. ( )

Ellie vaguely remembers meeting the three sisters, friends of her grandmother, who were collectively known as "the bridesmaids." But her mother's explanation for that nickname was, "It's a long story, best forgotten." Now, 30 years later those mysterious ladies have sent Ellie a note that her grandmother wishes to contact her. But, her grandmother died many years earlier! Ellie winds her way through an old diary, a seance, old and new murders, and family secrets. A light, fun, easy read (if murder can be called "fun"). ( )

Ellie Haskell (first introduced in the book, The Thin Woman) gets a call from her grandmother's best friends, telling them she has a message for her. Only trouble is, she's dead. But Ellie can't help wondering what's up. Since her husband and kids are off on a camping trip, she decided to visit.

Very funny in parts, especially whenever Mrs. Malloy is on the scene. A great book. ( )
