Joseph Lincoln was a 20th century writer of short stories, poems, and novels. He said that he just wanted to tell tales that would make the reader feel good about themselves and their neighbors. Thankful's Inheritance is part of the collection of stories Lincoln wrote about his imaginary town of Cape Cod. The inhabitants have that wonderful droll New England humor that his readers have come to love. The characters include a man who talks like a parrot with its bill greased, the curmudgeon who took out a mortgage on the inheritance, the misunderstood attorney who loved Thankful's niece, and the unique backdoor lovers. This book is guaranteed to restore any grouch's mood to a pleasant outlook. No library descriptions found. |
