It is a book about a boy named Murdley Gurdson who couldn't seem to do anything right and whatever happened it was his fault. One day as he was walking along he lost one of his shoes. As he was looking for his shoe an egg landed on his head. He ask the bird who blamed it on another animal, then another till finally they realized it was just a big acident and he and the other animals went home and cooked the egg and thank his friends and finally it wasn't his fault.
This is a a good teaching moment to show how not to put the blame on others, and work together to figure out how something may have happened.
You could talk to the kids about blaming others, and it not a nice thing for a friend to do. You could talk about friendship.
