A homeless prostitute starts killing her customers.

2/4 (Indifferent).

This goes to so much effort to make the character sympathetic, it ends up sharing her nihilistic, misanthropic point of view. Horrible things happen, people are miserable, the end.

Wonder Woman vs. a monkey's paw.

4/4 (Great).

It's my favorite of the DCEU movies so far, and I can't figure out why people don't like it. It's filled with joy and optimism. Its driven by character arcs with strong emotional impact. The action scenes aren't great, but they're no worse than the typical action blockbuster. I'm increasingly convinced that all the times when I've agreed with The Public Consensus about what's good were just weird coincidences.

Superior superhero movie due to having a modicum of intelligence that most lack. Also, Gadot, though not a great actress, is a monumental presence and has charisma to spare. Chris Pine is excellent as the male lead, and the supporting cast is superb. The opening scenes with the backstory are a bit slow but provide the necessary background info before the main story starts. The World War I setting is great. The climax is action-filled and violent, but doesn't go on endlessly and brainlessly as so many films of this genre do. Highly recommended.… (more)

Well. Yes. What most of the positive reviews have said.
I thought Pine was very effective as the picaresque hero, and Gadot was, um, wonderful.
