I received this book thru a LibraryThing Early Reviewers giveaway. The book is 5th in a series that features a family with the ability to time travel and each book is set in a different national park. This book is set in Yellowstone National Park. I've never been there but am familiar with a few of it's features. There's a lot of information presented on the wildlife, the geographical features and the history of the park. The time travel storyline presents the opportunity to enhance the show more historical stories set in the early days and creation of the park. It's a fun story and would help aquaint anyone, particularly kids, with all aspects of the park. show less

I really enjoyed reading this book. Having never been to Yellowstone National Park the book helped me to "see" the park in a way I never will. There were detailed explanations about the wildlife, nature and geological features of the park. The time travel storyline added even further information about the long history of this park in a very novel way. This book is part of a series of books that each feature a different national park. This is such a fun way for kids to read about and explore show more these national Parks that they too might never have the chance to see in life. The author even included discussion questions and other sources at the end of the book for students to use to help them with their school projects, show less

I was very pleasantly surprised by this book. It did an excellent job of combining geography, travel, history, and adventure. I highly suggest this book for anyone bringing children to Yellowstone. Read it before in order to plan your trip, or bring it along as a way to give depth to your travels. It was fun, informative, and page-turning.

I'm not gonna lie. I was so excited when I saw I won this book. I was supposed to visit Yellowstone in May of 2022, but factors made it impossible for me to do so. This book helped with the traveler in me that hopes to get to this beautiful park someday. I will give full disclosure here guys. I am an adult and this book is for kids in grades 3-7, but boy, oh boy did I enjoy it! The illustrations were wonderful! The story was made with love. There was even a curriculum guide and discussion show more questions in the back?? I'm a homeschool teacher, so I felt like this story was made for me! I would recommed this series (I can't wait to get my hands on the first four someday!). 5/5 stars. show less
