I don't hide my obsession with Zane. Since he was introduced, I've devoured every book, even when he was a side character. This book just proved why he is my favorite. The bond he and Kira share is to die for. I laughed, got teary eyed, and fell in love all over again. His rant about throw pillows had me dying.
I loved watching Kira grow and heal. I don't think that would have been possible without Cooper and the team. Cooper was swoon worthy. I can't wait to see what happens next show more with this band of brothers. show less

This might be one of my favorites from this author. There was something special about the characters. I absolutely loved Kennedy. LOVED her. I loved that she wasn't afraid of hard work and that she did so many things because she wasn't afraid to work hard by being creative in how she survived. They were all things that I wished that I could do, well, except maybe the bees to make honey because I am allergic to those.
Her connection show more with Jamison was special. I loved how well-suited they were. They both were what each other needed to see in order to put themselves out there. I loved her history with Nixon and his dad and how they both shaped her to be the woman that she was. The climax of this scene hit me hard. Her words in those moments where she knew that McKenna and Jameson could hear them hit me in all the feelings.
My only real gripe with anything that this author writes is that there is no real epilogue. It is a HFN and picks right up in the next book. I understand why she does that, but it still leaves me wishing for more.
Looking forward to Weston and Silver's story next. I highly recommend this series and this author. show less

If I didn't love this author before, after reading this book I would have. I loved the way that the author depicted a leading character who self-sabotages. Not in an intentional way, but rather, as a way of defense. She knows it is wrong but she lashes out. I was able to connect with Silver in that way. Only, unlike Silver, I did not have the most beautiful of a man that had the patience of a Saint on my side. Weston is/was/forever show more will be one of my top book boyfriends. I love how he just laid things out for Silver and didn't let her fester. It wasn't controlling. It was just the firm hand of guidance and support that she needed so that she never had to be invisible again. He truly saw her.
This book had all the suspense that I have come to expect as well as the HOT steamy times intermixed. Strong secondary characters that I am counting on getting their stories told too. show less

I knew going into this book that it would hold the suspense and chemistry that I have come to expect from this author. I was right in that assumption. However, I am not sure if it was because this book was setting the foundation for the rest of the series or what, but it lacked some of the oomph that I was coming to expect. I loved watching things fall into place with McKenna, Mandy, Zack, and Nixon. I liked watching show more them grow and heal. The other stuff that was happening in the background with this group didn't hold my attention. In some ways, that bums me out. In other ways, I'm glad because I didn't want to leave those moments that these characters shared together. I still enjoyed it. This is a great book for anyone that likes the style of Kristen Ashley because this author creates men just as Alpha/OTT and KA does, and the steam is just as HOT if not HOTTER.

Alec's Dream
**I read this as part of the Gemini Group Boxset
4.5 stars
From the beginning, it was apparent that this book was moving at a different pace than other books by this author. Sure, it still had the OTT intense alpha man and strong woman needing protection in some manner or another. However, this story built on the relationship and connection first and then added the romance to it. I found that I really liked that. For Alec and Macy, I think, it was the best way to go for their story. I liked that the first thought was how to get Macy away from her ex. Granted in Macy's way of thinking she thought she would be doing it herself, whereas, Alec would be helping whether she was in agreement or not. I loved, loved, LOVED the kids in this book. They added so much to the story and strengthened the relationship that much more.
Were there a couple of areas that I wished had been expanded on? Yet, it didn't diminish how much I enjoyed myself watching these characters traverse that crazy little thing like love. Up to this point, the Triple Canopy series was my favorite from this author. I loved it so much that even though I knew that this series was not part of KU, I would be investing in it anyway. For that I am glad. This boxset was amazing. I then went on to purchase the last books in the series. I cannot recommend this series, these characters, and this author enough. With every book that I read it gets better and better. show less
