Zen Doodling
by Carolyn Scrace

What a trip this 128 page barrel of fun was to review. It had many of my loves all in one place. Doodling and I go way back, but to be shown creative and meditative ways to actually turn my hen scratchings into an art form was divine. I learned about taking my passion within and making it into a work of art.

I was so excited I went out and bought some colored pencils just so I could get into the fullness of the suggestions and I felt so alive and my inner child show more fell completely in love with this gentle guide. I would recommend this one to anyone, anywhere any time. Thanks Carolyn, for opening my eyes to a whole new dimension of light.

Love & Light,

Marvelous. At least for me, a person who is *not* in touch with her creative powers. I did work through the first dozen instruction pages and do now feel much more competent about my ability to do some of the projects. I can at least make a picture frame for a snapshot now! Some of the other projects, later in the book, are more advanced than I have interest in and some even require investments in materials... but some investments are minimal.

This would make a fantastic gift for the teen show more girls or middle-aged women on your list, especially if you added a nice set of quality colored pencils and some heavy paper. show less
This book was a lifecycles book. It was a very informative book about a butterfly’s life. The pictures were very vivid and kept my attention all the way through the book. I personally liked this book because it was not boring. It was not just a list of facts. It was very interesting and stayed at a young person’s level. One extension idea is that as a class we can get a pet butterfly or bring one in and look at it. Another idea is that I can have my students draw a picture of what they show more think a butterfly looks like before we begin to read it. show less
