This is the fourth edition of what appears to be far and away the most popular World War II miniatures game. It’s a fairly simple igo-yugo system, in which one side (1) moves, (2) shoots, and (3) close assaults, and then the other side does likewise. The core rules are only 44 pages; other content includes rules for organizing forces, and “missions” — setting up and playing a game on a standard 4’ x 6’ table. In addition, there’s a certain amount of fluff in the form of a basic show more outline of World War II history at the highest level. Although the game can be played between unbalanced forces, in practice, the emphasis is on battles between balanced forces that can be completed in under three hours. show less
