I wanted to love this story as it had such potential and I really like other books by Alice Ward but I really disliked Atlee to the point I would skim read some of her, Wyatt was great and deserved someone better than Atlee. She was just a bit too spacey and erratic for me and seriously who would drive off and leave someone in the middle of nowhere!! There was some good suspense and banter that helped keep me interested in reading so I suggest this is more a book to fill in an afternoon.
Solid 4.5
You can not help but like Sadie and Tate for 2 professional people they are also so human and vulnerable and neither are good at communicating. The way the book is written you get such a great feel for them as well as really get the emotions they are going through like Sadie's frustrations of Tate not opening up even though she has shared so much with him but also the anxiety he has at wanting to share things with her but not knowing how she will take what he has to tell her. There show more are definitely times where you are like will they or wont they get together. show less
Atlee wanted to save the earth. Wyatt was raised to run it. When these two meet, Atlee already hates him and everything she thinks he stands for. But Wyatt is instantly attracted to her. Atlee wants to expose Wyatt’s company’s unethical sourcing practices. Wyatt wants to prove to her he’s trying to change his business. He takes her on a tour of one of his plantations in Thailand and the two get lost in the jungle. Soon, they have to stop fighting each other in order to fight for their show more lives.

So this book wasn’t a total bust. I for sure thought Atlee was going to make me throw the book against the wall. She was SO problematic. And while I never ended up loving her, I could see how Wyatt ended up falling for her. Those two went through a lot and it ended up pushing them together. I have to admit that Atlee redeems herself later in the book and isn’t quite as annoying.

The beginning was super frustrating but once things picked up, the story got much better. I enjoyed the second half.

This was a fantastic read especially as not only was it a HEA but also about Sean confronting his past and becoming the man he should be. The characters are really well developed and the story line has a good complexity to it. To keep you turning the page there are some good twists, lol moments along with some times where you want to shed a tear. I was gutted when i finished reading it as I was so hooked!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
