I love a good MC story, and Lilly Atlas definitely delivered. I thought that this was a really good story, with a really good balance of action, love, and downtime. It was easy to get wrapped up in it and race through to the end.
Chloe was victimized by some total jackholes. Rocket came in and rescued her, but not before they told her that she had Hell's Handlers to blame for her attack. And guess what colors Rocket was wearing when he came to rescue her?
I was so impressed with Chloe. She show more was strong AF. I mean, she was pretty much a BAMF. On the very worst day of her life, she managed to turn into steel, and got on a motorcycle to be taken to the hospital. I know, for sure, that I wouldn't have been able to do the same thing. Then, she figured out her own way to get some of her own back. I get why she did things the way that she did. I also totally understand why she did it, because even a little bit of control is better than no control. As the story went on, I just became more and more impressed with her strength and resiliance.
I like Rocket. I think that he was a victim too. Not as much as Chloe was, and in totally different ways, but it happened. And it totally changed his view of himself, I think. He's a good man, even if he does bad things, he does them for the right reason. He's very protective of anyone he sees as his, and that includes all of the Hell's Handlers, as well as all of their ol' ladies. He's willing to go to ridiculous extremes to take care of them, and I think that's great.
All in all, a fantastic story that I couldn't put down. show less

Let me start by saying that Lilly Atlas is one amazing author and Noah Michael Levine and Erin deWard for an amazing pair of narrators. So when combining these three persons it is more than obvious that the result would be at least great!
I went into this book with so many expectations, knowing the author’s talent to create drama and to bring comfort in the end to the characters. All went well, with one small exception, which I will comment later in this review. But first let’s start with show more the good points. We have husband and wife trying to find each other after the loss of their only child. Their grief and inability to communicate brought them to the point of not being able to connect again. We later find out that, through the help of a psychologist, they have a series of dates in which they should pretend to be other people, meet and have an evening that should end in … a steamy situation, if you know what I mean! And so this happens, until one point.
Alyssa and Derek have managed to survive so much in their years as a couple, even PTSD. However, they were not able to stand the passing of their daughter. The author managed to express so well their pain and the process of coming together, it was impossible for me not to shed a tear or two. We have a step-by-step description of the phases they go through and that’s perfect. We have some extremely hot scenes that would increase your heart rate and, as mentioned, two narrators that are simply perfect!
However, I am missing from the story some information regarding the two years they have been apart. For me, not knowing how exactly the distancing happened makes the story a bit incomplete. By the end, I understood that the focus was more on how they come back together, but still, I wanted to see them fighting, or arguing or something like that.
All in all, I cannot but give 3.5 stars to Lilly’s book and I am so waiting forward to read/listen to more of her books. She is an author that manages to touch my heart and her stories contain life lessons for us all. Congratulations to her and the narrators for such a great job!

Pleasantly surprised
I'm not sure how I stumbled upon this book. It was super cute. I loved watching JP navigate new fatherhood. I'm glad the author included that adjustment period, especially, as JP truly was out of his league about the demands and needs that Kayla had. I liked the premise of this story too. Not as much for the reasons Hannah's parents wanted her there, but rather so she could see for herself , that her sister had made the right choice.
Great secondary characterz, like show more chemistry, and a secret or two made this enjoyable. I wish that the ending had been more of a glimpse into the future instead of a HFN. show less

I have read every Lilly Atlas book that's been released and I have enjoyed each other and Jinx is no different. Jinx is the 4th book in Lilly's Hells Handlers MC: Florida Chapter series. It had everything I'd come to expect from her books. Personable characters, a strong female heroine, and a storyline that could be a reality for some. And we got to read about other members of the club that we've read about before and it was nice to catch up with them.
This book is about Jinx and Harper. show more Jinx decided when he lost his high school sweetheart and his professional sports opportunity he would never fall for a woman again. He was a hit-it-and-leave-it, type of guy. If they even hinted at being a clinger he wanted nothing to do with them that is until he met Harper and just felt this strong pull towards her. Harper has a lot of understandable issues when it comes to trusting people, especially men. And I don't blame her 1 bit. Her at the time boyfriend betrayed her, she spent 7 years in jail starting at 18, and she's been all alone. When she got out of prison she left home and relocated to Florida and applied for a counseling job. The ladies of the Hells Handlers are opening a woman's shelter and Harper was interviewed to be the counselor. That is how she met Jinx. She tried with everything she had to avoid him and to tell herself she couldn't trust him until she got wrapped up in the club's issues. It doesn't help that since Lock took custody of his nephew when his twin sister died that he's been on a downward spiral causing trouble for himself and the club. Unfortunately, Harper gets caught in the crossfire a couple of times. Jinx vows he will protect her and as he's watching over her they get to know each other more. I commend Harper for the bravery she found inside herself to give life a chance. Not just with Jinx but on everything in life that she missed out on by being put away so young. Does Jinx change his mind and claim her? What are the consequences going to be for Lock? Has Harper finally found the family she's always needed with the Handlers?
I gave this book a 4-star rating and a 4-spicy rating. I loved how this story went. Harper is someone I admire for the strength to actually have a life after getting out instead of stumbling and ending up back inside as most do. Jinx actually stepped up as a man and not just the club manwhore and it made me proud of him. Harper is definitely worth all the effort Jinx is putting into their "friendship." I'm hoping that Lock's book is next because I really need to know what happens to him!
