A rather disturbing future earth in which H. P. Lovecraft's Great Old Ones reign supreme and the surviving humans are controlled by an autocratic state which is allied with gods and alien beings. Its tone is part science-fantasy, part dystopian political future, part post-apocalypse, all tinged with horror and despair. For an rpg setting it is very bleak and I can't imagine using it for my players. One problem with these 'stars have come right' scenarios for Call of Cthulhu (End Time is show more another) is that the world is crawling with all the monsters ever darkly hinted at in the mythos. They lose a bit of their horror when they are all crammed together like the monster manual, and some of the inconsistencies of the Mythos stories and creatures become more glaringly apparent. show less

A pleasing supernatural western comic (think Deadlands, The Dark Tower etc) with well-rounded main characters. Ten-shoes is an Oxford-educated shaman who no longer fits anywhere. And the eponymous Eldritch Kid is a famous gunslinger with a reputation fer dispatchin' various supernatural horrors, spirits and beasties that roam this unpleasant version of the Old West. They get together and form a partnership, and sets the reader up for more Eldritch Kid adventures.
