Alfred Szklarski (1912–1992)

What can I say - I love this series. It was written many years ago, so some things they accepted are difficult to accept nowadays, and there are much too many long talks about history and geography; I don't really care. I fell in love with Mr Smuga when I was a 14-year-old girl and I think I still love him a bit. This time Tomek and his friends go to Africa; they want to catch an elusive animal called okapi. The adventures they experience are much more dangerous than in the previous book, show more some people get killed and it may be quite scary for sensitive children at times. I loved reading it and I'm sure I'll reread this book many times in the future. show less
