I really love the first part of this book, describing a story of a six-year-old orphaned girl and a group of good people who all want to look after her. The second part of the book takes place ten years later and is much worse in my opinion. Still, it's one of my most favourite books ever. Five stars.
Definitely one of my favourite comfort reads, a book that always makes me smile. There are two brothers, students without a penny, who one day discover a mysterious will of their ancestor, promising them great treasures. They are determined to find the promised riches, but it is not easy and requires a lot of effort from them. As always, I'm sorry I'll never read the author's five books destroyed during the war, they must have been masterpieces. Five stars.
Adam is sixteen and completely alone in the world. He's doing his best to survive, which is not easy - there are days when there is nothing to eat and buying new shoes is a challenge. One day he finds out that he's the only heir of an affluent man and his life completely changes. I enjoyed this book very much, it was positive and full of faith in the goodness of human hearts, a joy to read in difficult times. Five stars.
