On top of telling you everything you could possibly want to know about tassels, this book has helpful introductions to many beading techniques that can be used to embellish the tassels and make the fringes. I think there is a lot here not only for someone who wants to make elaborate tassels, but also for folks interested in how techniques can be mixed and matched in intriguing ways.
I was slightly disappointed with this book. Looking at the front cover I thought there would be more step by step instructions for the different stitches. However, if your looking for a visual example of the stitches, this book is for you! Wonderful photo gallery.
The illustrations and photographs in this book are predominantly black and white. Instead of being a detraction, this emphasizes the graphic nature of the strips or lines in the material that are cut apart and reassembled to make a new design. Drafting your own design is covered as are techniques for making curved strips and sewing thin strips to a foundation.
