The main lesson about this book is to inform the reader all about penguins. The book talks about what penguins are, how many types of penguins there are and how big they can get, where penguins live around the world, that penguins live in colonies, how penguins communicate, how penguins start a family, and what happens when penguins grow up. This book is good for readers between the ages of 2nd and 4th grade. There are a lot of pictures of penguins and good text features for young readers. show more For example, there are labels on pictures, a map of the places where penguins live, and vocabulary words are bolded and found in the back of the book with their definition. This book would be good for a unit on non-fiction informational texts for students to read. show less
