Winnie has always been off in her own world of fairies, princesses, and fairy tales. The problem is that she has to live in the real world, and it's so much more drab than her dreams and fantasies. One day, when she has to deliver some dresses to the theater, she gets an eyeful of Archer and an actress. When he finds out who she is and where she works, he tracks her down because he has very definite tastes and Winnie is going to meet those tastes.

Zoe Blake's name means I'm going to one show more click, and I've never gone wrong once with doing that. I was definitely right to buy this one. It's dark, it's yummy, it's hot. Archer makes a very good Papa and Winnie and he have great chemistry together. I love how cherished and loved he makes Winnie feel, and he's willing to do everything he can to make her dreams and fantasies come true. He plays with her in all kinds of ways, and it's just sweet and romantic as hot as all get out. I love the worlds that Zoe Blake creates and the characters that she peoples them with. show less
WTF did I just read? Zoe Blake has taken this series even further in this book. I didn't expect it to go where it did, but oh man, it was so good.

What Zoe Blake has done is just amazing. It really plays into something that personally scares the crap out of me, so this story did so many good things for me while doing so many bad things for me.

Do beware that it's darker than darker, and there is no happy, ever. But it's worth every dark and twisted word.
Undeniably strange and yet compelling, this is a cleverly linked anthology, each tale leading to the next but all self -contained. Dark and defiant individuals driven by a need for power, sex and, yes, love take what they want with no regard for conventional mores. A quick read but it will stay with you.
Oh my stars and garters. This was an intense book that I couldn't put down when I started reading it. It's dark, it's yummy, and it's oh, so twisted. Alta Hensley and Zoe Blake have done it again, taking a fairy tale, turning it upside down, and giving us an adult bedtime story that calls for an adult beverage and a cigarette when you are done reading it. Or maybe that was just me?

Red is the outcast in her village. Her evil grandmother is an elder and though she raised Red, she's made sure show more that Red knows how very worthless she is. Because her grandmother is an elder, the rest of the village has shunned her. And if that didn't make her stand out enough, being the only redhead in her village certainly makes sure she will stand out. (Gingers are soulless, right?) When it comes time for the Blood Moon Sacrifice, when normally only men are candidates, her grandmother managed to arrange it so that the eldest unmarried child of any household may be chosen, and that includes Red.

Five hundred years ago, 5 men were changed using black magic so that they can fight the darkness. They are men in the guise of wolves. And when the blood moon rises, the villagers sacrifice one of their own to the wolves so that they will continue to protect the village. No one in the village knows what happens to those sacrifices. The assumption is that they are eaten. Whatever happened to all those other sacrifices, when Red is the one being sacrificed, Grimm, Canis, Beo, Rood, and Helm know that things are going to change.

I love the names of the guys here. They seem like they should mean things, and maybe they do. I get the Grimm reference and the Canis reference. I think Beo, Rood, and Helm may be archaic for something. Or maybe I'm completely wrong, and Alta and Zoe are keeping us guessing. Whatever it is, I love the names. I think they are pretty awesome. They give a flavor of a fairy tale without really pinning it down to anything at all.

The book is intense. There is so much sex. Just soooo much sex. Soooo much hawt sex. It's just yummmmmm. Not to say that there isn't cherishing going on, but yeah, this is very sex-filled. I love the book. I will reread the book. A lot. With an adult bevvy and a ciggy on hand, because I'm pretty sure I'm going to continue to need them when I'm done reading.
