One of my favorite things about this author is her ability to make me be a fan of something that I would never normally be a fan of. In this case, it is hockey. Unless it is baseball I detest sports. Yet, somehow, I have begun to change my tune. Not only do I find myself enjoying the actual story but also the game itself when it is being described. It makes me want to become a real-life fan.

This book had it all; one of my favorite tropes (fake marriage), angst, suspense, fantastic show more characters, great secondary characters, amazing dogs, chemistry galore, and hot steamy times. I enjoyed watching these characters fall in love as their relationship progressed. Even though this is a common thing in fake marriages, this author made it seem fresh and new. I enjoyed Mica's mom immensely and to what lengths Mica went to show Charlie that she was important and that their marriage was real.

My only complaint was in understanding more about the bad guy. I didn't understand his intent and also about why he had what he did in the basement.

I cannot wait until the next book. I also hope that Mica's friend (even though he is not a Vancouver Wolves player gets a book too. There was just something about him. This series just keeps getting better and better.

I love the Vancouver Wolves series so much, and this newest edition is no exception! Odette Stone is great at creating complex characters with undeniable chemistry, and Mica and Charlie might be the steamiest pair yet. I love a good fake marriage trope, and watching their struggle with an impossible situation bloom into something beautiful was a joy. What especially surprised me was the dark suspense sub-plot that could have easily gone of the rails in less capable hands, but Stone managed show more the pacing and distribution of information brilliantly. This has everything I crave in a romance: hot hockey player hero, capable and smart heroine, steamy scenes balanced with a complex plot, and a happily ever after that makes me swoon and feels completely earned. I can't wait to read the next one! show less

I just recently discovered this author and devoured everything she wrote within a month. EVERYTHING. There is something about her writing style that calls to me. Her characters are real and not over the top. They all have a sense of humility that despite their wealth, or sometimes lack of it, it still comes across as genuine and real. She creates a scene that is authentic to the storyline and is never completely outlandish. There is a depth to her stories.

I was beyond excited to read this show more book. I know nothing about Hockey. Hell, to be honest, I know nothing about sports except baseball. It has never appealed to me but this author made me fall in love with a sport that I know nothing about and still had me understanding the gist of it. A lot of the time in sports romance I have to skim over the sports parts because I have no desire to read something I don't have any interest in. Yet, I didn't do that in this book or the first standalone in this series. I think largely because she writes it in a way that makes it exciting and doesn't feel like it is being forced on me. Her stories have substance to them and characters that seem to leap off the pages.

Ryan and Zoey are my favorite characters to date of all her characters ever written. This was a complex situation but I loved that it progressed slowly and that trust was integral in developing this story. It was not a fast instant-love relationship by any means which made me cherish it that much more. They seemed to awaken something missing in each other's lives and offered so much more than a typical friendship. The anticipation and build up in their relationship had me almost begging my kindle to make it happen sooner than it did and when it finally did. It was perfect timing for them and I realize I needn't have cussed out the author for making them wait so long. The side characters were fantastic as well. I need stories from all of them. Krista, Mica, Jensen, and even Justin all need their stories and I hope that they get the chance to do that.

I implore anyone that has not read this author to start now. She is truly one of those unicorn authors that will leave you with your mouth agape, a smile on your face, and warm fuzzy feelings when the book is over.
