2014. You can read this book online at transreads dot org.
Best book. Addresses racism and transphobia. Read it and decolonize your mind. The narrator J. becomes increasingly depressed, anxious, and isolated. She drops out of school in Lincoln, Nebraska, and goes home to the border of Texas to live with her family. They accept her transition, but they’re not great about it, just better than a lot of other people’s families. They’re not going to throw her out. She’s sometimes show more suicidal, but I really liked the way she talked about. Hard relate. ACAB, prison abolition, calls out cis white queers a lot. show less
