Stegosaur stone is set in the Australian towns of Broome and Sydney where three teenagers struggle to find out where four murderers have hidden the only complete set of stegosaur footprints in the world before they sell them for millions of dollars to a foreign museum. But they can’t tell anyone for they themselves weren’t supposed to be in the National park that fateful night. They get Death threats and get pushed into crocodile infested waters, as well as floating with a dead body show more before finally being lead to the murderers house. Who knows what will follow?
Passage * Start of novel has a dead body floating in the water while the three friends cling to the side of a cliff in the middle of the night. How did they get in this predicament?

This entire series is a wonderful way to learn history or teach it to adolescents. I find today's generations seem to recall more when they learn through other people (pop songs, celebrity gossip, etc.), so what better way to teach history than through someone else's perspective? Yes, "authentic" diaries would be "better", but would the language really hold the modern student's attention? Did the diary writer know what WOULD be important in the context of history? Probably not.
