Blandiana's poetry, to the sensibility of a newer reader like me, has the smell of a vintage prog rock album with moments on the fine line between kitsch and sublime. Yes, '60s neomodernism has become that vintage, but, outside the obvious lack of authenticity and the pretentious metaphysics (another thing you could expect from a prog rock album), it has a vintage charm... and a feminine one, I must say... There are several poems on this volume though that are definitely „catchy” and, if show more the word had not turn into a cliche, beautiful. show less

One of the least essential poetry collections from the massively overrated Ana Blandiana. Please read Angela Marinescu, Mariana Marin, Anemone Latzina, Ileana Mălăncioiu or Nora Iuga instead. Or, if not, just pick up an anthology of Blandiana's poems, not one of these last 2-3 volumes.
