I read volumes two and four of this series a few years ago and have now decided to start from the beginning with this series.
This is the first volume of the Isabelle Bonnet series and gave me a lot of insight into the protagonists who will also play a role in the upcoming books. Isabelle has actually travelled to the south of France to recover from a bomb attack. She is actually the head of a secret special unit in Paris. But the peace and quiet soon comes to an end when a rich Englishman show more disappears from his villa and then a woman's body is found on the beach in Saint-Tropez. Isabelle Bonnet is persuaded to take on the case (demoted to inspector and equipped with a false CV) - which doesn't exactly spark enthusiasm among her local colleagues, as there are still a lot of prejudices in the Provence province. However, she is given an unexpectedly resourceful assistant in the form of a ditzy-looking police archivist. What was the mysterious Englishman doing in Provence? And the mysteries from Isabelle's own past, the accidental death of her parents, also urgently need to be solved.
It was an enjoyable read and I'm looking forward to the next volumes.

I also really enjoyed this volume. I love Isabelle and her protagonists.
Isabelle actually wants to recover from her traumatic experiences in Paris in the beautiful countryside on the Côte d'Azur, but her extraordinary expertise is once again in demand: she uncovers some inconsistencies in the alleged suicide of a senior police officer from the Côte d'Azur harbour town of Toulon. And then there are the unsolved cases that she has to solve with her quirky assistant Apollinaire: After some show more research, the deadly robbery of a jewellery shop in Cannes turns out to be a set-up and it doesn't take long for gangster bosses and organised crime on the Côte d'Azur to appear on the scene. show less

Madame le Commissaire of Fragolin decides to convene company holidays for her police station. She and her sous-brigadier could both take a few days' holiday, since there's nothing going on in the tranquil Fragolin anyway. Far from it, as soon as she is at her favourite beach the phone rings and she gets work. On the one hand, she must clarify the death of a minister who has not died away from a natural death. On the other hand, it's about fake pictures. If one takes a closer look, there is a show more cry for help under a coat of paint.
Privately, it does not run as she imagines, both of her lovers compete for her favour. Isabelle Bonnet finally finds a good Solomonic solution for her.
As always, this was an amusing read.

This was the fifth volume in the Isabelle Bonnet series and I enjoyed it.
When Isabelle was in the botanical garden, a dead nun was found on the beach. Who is this nun and why do more nuns have to die? Isabelle is in the dark and goes undercover in the convent herself. In doing so, she puts herself in great danger. As a side story, Appolinaire and she also have to catch a thief who is stealing from Appolinaire's partner and Isabelle's best friend's bank accounts.
