This is a short classic version of Cinderella but this book is different because it has both english and spanish. I think this book would be useful for bilingual students who are learning about Cinderella for the first time. All of these different adaptations of Cinderella is very interesting. I hope to read more in the future.

This short and sweet version of Cinderella is a book that I believe would be very useful to readers in many ways. Not only does this book tell the true story of Cinderella, but it is also a bilingual book and is written in Spanish. The author does a great job sticking to the original story, as Cinderella is treated badly by her stepmother and stepsister, and goes to three different balls, and loses her shoe on the last night. What makes this book great, though, is that the text in this book show more is simple enough for language learning students to comprehend. I also love that this version of the story follows the original tale, rather than sugar-coating the story like Disney has. I highly recommend this story to any student learning to read, as well as learning the true story of Cinderella. show less

This book tells the famous story of Cinderella, but it is not like most of the retellings of this classical story. Cinderella/Cenicienta, retold by Francesc Boada, is written in both in English and Spanish. Boada has written 4 sentences on each page, the top section is the story in English and underneath is the Spanish translation. The story of Cinderella shows that good will always triumphs over evil. Cinderella was kind, and for that great things came her way. This book also shows the show more theme of forgiveness, when Cinderella forgave her step family. Cinderella remained positive even during a negative time in her life, and eventually she received the perfect life she deserves.This is the perfect book for students who want to learn Spanish or English. Also, it gives those who speak predominately Spanish a chance to read this famous story everyone knows and loves. show less

In this version of Little Red Riding Hood, readers can read in either English or Spanish. It is the classic story of little red riding hood going to her grandmother’s house to deliver a basket of baked goods. Her mother tells her specifically to go straight to grandmother’s house and to not dally along. During her walk into the woods, she meets the wolf, who devises a plan of his own. The wolf goes to Red’s grandmother’s house and eats her. When Red arrives, he eats her too. A nearby show more hunter goes to Grandmother’s house and kills the wolf while he is asleep, saving Red and her grandmother. After, Red went straight home making sure to not dally again. Colorful illustrations catch the reader’s eye and helps follow along with the story. Being a children’s book, the story is a bit violent, especially the part where the hunter cuts open the wolf and stuffs him with rocks. The wolf is not dead and when he rises and then falls, he is pronounced dead a second time. This story leaves the message of doing what you are told to do no matter what. show less
