A fairly short and easy to read justification for the Green New Deal, especially the less directly climate aspects that many feel overly encumber and obscure the prime goal of eliminating carbon emissions. This is a very timely book, one that couldn't have been written prior to 2018 and parts were already obsolete by late 2019. But with the 2024 elections already looming, and climate still the #1 issue on the ballot, it's still critical that everyone be informed on the issues and backs a show more planet-saving agenda.

The authors make no bones about their proposals requiring radical transformations, so even if you don't agree that we need to go quite that far, it's useful to understand the arguments and be able to evaluate alternate approaches.

Reads a bit like a manifesto of a perfect future. Gave me hope that things like this can happen, and I'd love to see even the basic ideas in this come to light, but who knows.
This book is a collection of articles on the history of leftist politics in the United States, probably much information that is barely mentioned in US History textbooks.
