Beautifully presented cookbook with plenty of recipes and photographs. Includes all of my fave Spanish foods and then some!
My only wish is for more captions denoting where photos were taken. Plenty of smaller pics offered no insight as to location. And, I’d have loved for Salamanca (where I studied during uni) to be included somehow, especially as it’s known for its jamón ibérico. Alas!

The Home Book: Practical Advice and Clever Ideas for Cleaning, Repairing and Organising Your House and Garden by Murdoch Books
One of those irresistible books that tells you how to remove stains, Repair your house, and made cleaners and disinfectants using natural or recycled ingredients. It's an Australian publication so good for South Africa with a similar climate and seasons. The challenge will be to put it into practice...
The book opens with some basic information and instruction on baking, but especially useful are the several sections on 'what went wrong' - picture guides illustrating the common problems encountered when baking along with an explanation of the cause. Following this section come the recipes under the headings: small cakes and slices; cookies; cakes; muffins and scones; breads and pizzas; savoury pies and pastries; savoury tarts and quiches; sweet pies, tarts and pastries; the book includes show more and useful glossary and an index.
Boasting over three hundred recipes, each accompanied by enticing photographs, there is enough here to keep one going with new and tasty ideas. The recipes are well laid out and clearly explained, although there are no additional comments or personal observations with the individual recipes, which is a pity because I do like to know a little of what to expect from the finished dish, although the photographs of the delicious looking results do make up a somewhat for this lack. Measurements are in both metric and imperial .
This substantial book appears to hail from Australia, but there I can find no indication as to who complied this compendium. However it really does live up to its title, and is one cookbook that will surely receive plenty of use in this household. show less

I use this cookbook mainly for the basic crepe recipe. The steps are easy to follow and the picture guides for some recipes are nice.
