The "Photographic Tour" series includes books on various US cities, states, and regions. The present work is a 128 page book of color photographs taken throughout the state of Florida. The book is introduced by a 15 page history of the region. The color photographs are rendered in full page and double-page spreads. The choice of photographs is idiosyncratic. Page after page contains urban shots, showing the outsides of buildings in the major cities. Nature shots are scarce (only a few show show more any of Florida's animal life); and followers of the space program will be disappointed to find no mention of Kennedy Space Center. Oddly, despite the urban settings and occasional beach shot, only three of the color photographs show any people; as a result, one may get the eerie impression that no one lives there. From the book, I don't feel I got much of a sense of what the state of Florida is like; but if others enjoy it, that's quite allright. show less

A large very handsome photographic volume, all colored images, excellent descriptive text accompanies the photos.
