The Nest Home Design Handbook: Simple ways to decorate, organize, and personalize your place by Carley Roney
I gave this book a 3/5 because it is something like a 2/5 on textual content and a 5/5 on pictures. Since I bought it for the pictures, that mix works out great for me.
That said, the content is quite good for a book in the genre of "picture centric books about home decorating". It has a number of good one page summaries of various design principles, and it goes into slightly more detail about practical matters like televisions and computers than these sorts of books usually do. But really, show more where this book shines is as a repository of inspiring pictures. It does lean toward the modern, so if that is not your thing, you probably will not get a lot out of the book. However, if that is your thing, you will find a lot to inspire. show less

The Knot Guide to Wedding Vows and Traditions: Readings, Rituals, Music, Dances, and Toasts by Carley Roney
Very helpful for planning your vows and wedding music. I liked the variety offered in this book. I also enjoyed learning about wedding traditions in other cultures. I feel that this book is a good fit for most any couple since it covers vows and traditions from many different religions and also secular viewpoints.
The Knot Little Books of Big Wedding Ideas: Cakes; Bouquets & Centerpieces; Vows & Toasts; and Details by Carley Roney
It’s been a really cold week here in Greenville, SC! And since everything closed because of the snow I was going stir-crazy by day two trapped inside my apartment. Anyways, I was able to take the girls to the public library on Valentine’s Day and I managed to pick up a copy of “Prince Lestat”!!! That review is coming as soon as I finish “Never Let Me Go” from Kazuo Ishiguro.
So here I was doing school related work, teaching my kids how to read and write, and looking through my old show more Pinterest boards… my future wedding boards to be exact. I married two years ago in a courthouse after my second daughter was born. But still… sometimes I really want to do my “wedding party” you know? The white dress, the flowers, the photographs… I want it. Obviously we still need to save more money so we can make it happen. And I often find myself dreaming about the day when Cj says “It’s time”… But I have no idea how to plan a wedding!
I saw a boxed set called: “The Knot: little books of BIG WEDDING IDEAS” by Carley Roney.
The boxed set has 4 little books filled with information and ideas for cakes, bouquets & centerpieces, details such as invitations, stationary lingo, and vows and toasts. The photographs are amazing…especially the ones in the cakes and details books! The packaging is to die for, so much elegance and cuteness. I read all of the little books in less than 3 hours. These are a must for any bride looking for guidance and ideas for her big day.

Meh. I read this in preparation for moving in with my partner. Nothing to eye-opening, but a good conversation-starter.
