As a history person and someone who has read Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, I was interested to see in what detail the author would explore the subject of Hitler for young readers. Using photos and illustrations, Bradley gives a very good overview of Hitler and his effect upon the world at the time, including the horrors and atrocities accompanying his rule. I was glad to see that she pulled no punches in some misguided desire to protect children from the realities of the history of the show more world in which they live. show less
I really enjoyed this when I was younger. I'm not really reading fantasy stuff any more, but when I read this I thought it was excellent, something as grand and epic as Lord of the Rings, but darker!
This book is about World War II and showing the many different things that Hitler did when he was alive. He was a leader of Germany and also the good and the bad things that he accomplished in his lifetime. It gives great illustrations and on a child's level of understanding what actually happened during World War II.
