Talk about one baaaaad little flock of rare-breed sheep (and I mean that in a very good way!). Oxo, Links, Jaycey, little Wills and Sal are heroes one and all!

I read a review of this (very) funny, quirky and utterly enjoyable (children's) book and, Ohmygrass!, it immediately jumped straight to my "must-read" list! If you love British humor, enjoy laugh-out-loud moments (lots of 'em!) and fast-paced adventure .. this is a book for you!

Highly recommended!
Five sheep, all from rare breeds, live on an idyllic English farm. One day a cell phone drops out of the sky (actually from a hot-air balloon) and the sheep see it as a message that the Great Lord Aries needs their help and this is the baaton that will lead them. They go on an excellent adventure that proves to be an exciting yet endearing story. And OhMyGrass! I loved the sheep words. Middle-grade readers will love this hilarious novel.
What a fun book to read! Technically the second book in a series but not having read book 1, I wasn't at all confused or out of the loop having only read book 2. We are first introduced to these wacky sheep in Quest of the Warrior Sheep but in the beginning of The Warrior Sheep go West, we are quickly filled in on the personality traits and little quirks that make Jaycey, Sal, Links, Wills and Oxo so entertaining to read.

What I really liked about this book was how through a series of show more seemingly unrelated events these loveable sheep and their clueless human owners, travel thousands of miles together, thwart the evil plans of a mad scientist (or two) save the day and wind up back in the comfort of their English countryside - all without even realizing they were working together the whole time.

A quick read that I really think young readers would enjoy. Fun and lighthearted with a bit of mystery and suspense, The Warrior Sheep Go West is a book I would not hesitate to recommend to middle grade readers.

Although I didn't need to have read book 1 in order to read book 2, I think I'll buy myself a copy anyway to add to my home library. I can really see my daughter enjoying these stories in years to come.

One day a mobile phone falls out of the sky and the five rare breed sheep on Eppingham Farm see it as a sign their Sheep God is in danger. They must go north to save him They are pursued by two men in a yellow car and also their owners who want them back...then there is the guy who thinks they've been abducted by aliens. This is a crazy, funny quest story of a different kind.
