I discovered this book purely by chance, I was at the book shop looking for something else and it was almost as if it was presented to me. It was in the entirely wrong section and sticking out from the shelf and I feel placed there quite deliberately and knowing the way spirit work, I would say yes it was. I have always been able to see auras, though I can switch this ability on and off at will and it was always difficult for me to explain what I could see, show more but here was a book where the author documented what I could see too. It explains clearly about healing and explains the "Human Energy Field" i.e. The Aura and its several layers. It explains healing first begins with the spirit and not on the physical plane a misconception by many would be healers and those seeking healing. An absolute fantastic book - would consider it an essential for anyone working in energy healing, or pursuing courses in energy healing, as well as anyone even interested in, regardless of what particular discipline or modality of energy work one may be coming from. It covers many different topics, and is quite an indepth book, yet very user friendly too. I like how the author covers different aspects that she became aware of as she developed as a healer, and the diagrams in the book also show more help to portray what she is saying in the text of the book - the diagrams also make excellent quick reference books from time to time. This book would be suitable for beginners and more seasoned practitioners alike. This is a must on any healer's bookshelf. In my opinion, it would be the bible of any books out there on the energy field system. I cannot recommend this book highly enough!! show less

I bought this book some time ago and it arrived, after a rather long Corona waiting, this week.

It turns out to be the first paperback edition from 1988 (the hardcover book was published in 1987). That suits me well because I had some (unjustified) questions about the use of the word aura in the Dutch (title)translation.
Later in her development Brennan preferred using the term human energy feld.

This is the first of tree books (#2 is Light Emerging, #3 is Core Light show more Healing) describing her life fulfillment.

I think it is a beautiful guide.
In the fascinating process of verifying and adapting natural and old wisdom.
Using available scientific methods (without being too technical).
Making it usefull in today's society.

But people differ.
One is coming home.
Other is making home.

The author is, in my humble opinion, a great 'attribute' to our troubled society. show less

There is no better book on healing. Barbara Ann Brennan is the best. This book explains how energy healing works and why you can do it. I have read this book many times. Each time I read, I learn something more. I have been a Reiki master for years now, and the more I practice, the more I understand, and the more I realize that Brennan has it exactly right.

Recommended for not only energy healers, Light workers but those who work as Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists and other show more medical services. The therapists that I work with have raved about this book and how it has helped them in their work. show less
