This was not an easy (comfortable?) book to read, but it was very fascinating since I had not actually read a book before on Dianic Wicca. I really had the feeling like I had stepped back in time 35 years (to when most of this material was written) and, perhaps if I was an adult back then (instead of a child/pre-teen) I might have associated more with it. The history enthralled me the most; the background of the author and her mother. There are many chants and spells that are invaluable to show more have, even if one is not Dianic, so I am glad to have this in my library. show less
I read this book years ago, and found it filled with interesting stuff, some of which I actually tried. More than anything, I liked her overall message of taking back your power, rather than allowing other people to create misery in your life.
Women's rights and rites combine in a celebration of the Goddess: divination, spells, rituals, and herstory. The Holy Book of Women's Mysteries is s feminist survival guide teaching individual and group witchcraft, women's health and nutrition for strength and power, and the valuable lessons our foremothers have handed down to us.
