On an indoor sort of day, the Pooh friends improvise musical instruments from random stuff they find in Pooh's house. It takes a little longer for Tigger to find his instrument, but he too soon has fun expressing himself through music.
Bonus star for the scene of Pooh making a sticky mess when he tries to use a full pot of honey as a maraca. My daughter and I laughed out loud.
(My Pooh Project: I love Winnie the Pooh, and so does my wife. Having a daughter gave us a chance to indoctrinate her show more into the cult by buying and reading her every Pooh book we came across. How many is that? I’m going to count them this year by reading and reviewing one every day and seeing which month I finally run out. Track my progress here:

The princess and the frog is a fairy tale of the princess kissing a frog to turn him into a prince, who doesn’t have time for princes or frogs or kisses as she works non-stop so she can afford to open her own restaurant. Unfortunately, she ends up kissing Prince Naveen because he’s a talking frog prince mistaking her for a princess, asks her to make him human again. This would be fine except that if you’re not a princess and you kiss a cursed frog-prince, you’ll turn into a frog too. show more It’s that magical legalese. The two are forced to travel across the bayou together to find voodoo priestess Mama Odie in the hopes that she can turn them human again.
This story is very close to my heart for many reasons; it takes place in New Orleans and I’m from Louisiana. She’s the first African American Princess and also she’s very determined and focused like me. This was a great book and a fantastic movie. I loved the cultural aspects in this book and the biracial relationship between the princess and the prince. The story is a fairy tale but points out the fact that even with a happy ending, you can still struggle. This book is one of my favorites and I can’t wait until my daughter is born and I can read it to her.
This book would be great to read to a group of underprivileged girls; giving them hope and motivation. The sky is the limit and kids need to understand that the only things that can stop them are themselves. This book is great for multicultural teaching. show less

The wind has blown Christopher Robin's alphabet blocks all over the Hundred-Acre Wood, but Pooh and his friends are helping to find them all. And in alphabetical order to boot!
The board books in the Winnie the Pooh Learn & Grow series were my daughter's favorite a toddler, and this one was the best of the best I believe, as it's battered and torn condition from constant re-reads can attest. Lively rhymes and pictures make the alphabet a pleasure to show more run through again and again.

Pooh and his friend are getting ready for a party and count the items that are included in their preparations, e.g., three pots of honey and four bags of carrots.
This little board book and the others in the same series were among my daughter's favorite books when she was a toddler. She would "read" them herself over and over and make me read them to her again and again. It speaks to the quality of Lisa Ann Marsoli's rhymes that I never got sick of show more this book no matter how many times I read it aloud. And I still enjoy it.
I look forward to rereading the rest of the series this week.
