The book shows three very different young women, all friends, all trying to cope with love and relationships and all trying to build careers at a marketing company where they work. The tone is light, fun, entertaining and dead-on accurate in its depictions of office politics, dating pressures, struggles with self-esteem and relationship dynamics. It was a little scary how much I could relate to Rette, the over-weight and over-worked writer about to be married. Then there's Rette's sister show more Jen, the gorgeous life-of-the-party girl who's still very unhappy, and their friend Avery, who keeps looking for meaning and love, sometimes missing what's right in front of her.

A few pages in and already I am annoyed by the Boulderite stereotype. Will keep going for a bit but don't hold out much hope that this book will improve.

I bought this book based on the reviews I read on Amazon.com. I didn't find it laugh out loud funny, but I did enjoy the story. I will read the author's next book.

I really didn't see the point to this book because in my opionion it didn't really have much of a plot. It just dragged.
