From the inside flap, "Graffiti art is constantly changing. Fresh coats of paint and newly pasted posters appear overnight in cities across the world....Current graffiti art is reflective of the world around it. Using new materials and techniques, it innovators are creating and original language of forms and images infused with contemporary graphic design and illustration. Fluent in branding and graphic imagery, they have been replacing tags with more personal logos and shifting from show more typographic to iconographic forms of communication. Subverted signs, spontaneous drawings, powerful symbols and curious characters represent a worldwide outdoor gallery."

This book mainly focuses on artists based in Europe and the US, who have abandoned the traditional graffiti text tag for graphic logos or art pieces. Highlights individual artists with photos of their work and a couple paragraphs about their start and philosophy. My favorites were the pixelated Eiffel tower, the space invader mosaics, the plugs, and the art of urban warfare army guys.
Super Fun book to just flip through.

very colorful against the dull background of the city. highlights disparity, which i guess is kind of the point. i love the trains.
A great place to gain appreciation for graffiti and street art. This book gave credibility to the art form.
For any graffiti lover this book is a must have. Not only great for your own personal enjoyment but great to have on the coffee table for those times when company stops by.
