Sylvia Browne has been proven to be a fraud time and time again, and it never ceases to amaze me how many books she has written - or how many people buy said books. She does not have a real gift, but she certainly is good at pretending she does, at least with the more gullible sorts of people. All the 'gems' in here do not come from the spirit world, but were either made up by Ms. Browne, or lifted/adapted from other sayings. For spiritual guidance, you need to look into yourself, not to Ms. show more Browne. show less
It never ceases to amaze me how much Ms. Browne can con people, but then as the saying goes, there is a sucker born every minute, and Ms. Browne certainly has a talent for attracting said suckers.

I do not deny that the paranormal exists, and I do believe in past lives. However, Ms. Browne has been proven time and time again to be a fraud, and this book is one of these ways (as long as you're not a sucker)

She gets historical facts wrong. If Ms. Browne had bothered to do historical research, show more this book would be a heck of a lot convincing. Spanish spies in the New World in the first century AD? Bob Hope experiencing over 50 lifetimes in 300 years? If you're going to try to make up stories about celebrities, at least try to be a little more convincing. And of course, all the celebrities in this book are dead... how convenient.

Sylvia has been proven wrong so many times via the predictions she made on the radio or on television, and now her own book is proving her wrong. Way to go, Ms. Browne.

This book was hilarious. Did you know that in heaven - Oh sorry, I mean, the Other Side - carnivores and their prey hang out together on lost continents and speak to each other telepathically? Also there are unicorns. It's always the same balmy temperature and snow is warm and fluffy! The penguins don't mind. Sylvia Browne knows because they spoke to her in her mind while she was looking at the Other Side and they told her that it's all cool.
Okay, okay, okay. So I picked up another Sylvia Browne book, even though the last one made me feel like she was whacking my head with a rolled-up newspaper like a disobedient puppy. ("You are DIVINE!!! God LOVES YOU!!!")

I think I didn't like the other one because I felt like she was preaching. This book, however, was about the stuff that I like hearing her talk about: visits from the afterlife. (*ghostly sounding 'whoooo!! whoooo!'*) It was a thousand times more interesting. I mean, who show more doesn't want to find out what REALLY happened to Jimi Hendrix...directly from his spirit?

She explains the difference between kinds of hauntings: spirits (dead who have been to the Other Side, are at peace, and pop back in to see what's going on every now and then), ghosts (dead who don't know they're dead, those who haven't been to the Other Side), and so forth. She talks about some famous cases that she participated in, as well as answering reader questions. I have to admit, I really like the way she writes. It's very readable and she's kind of a crotchety old bitty...I get a kick out of her.

My favorite part in the whole book was when she described the Hall of Records on the Other Side. It sounded like a Greek Basilica, in which scrolls are kept. On these scrolls are all of our pasts and futures. Pick one up and not only can you read about an event, you'll be transported there to experience it.

I just knew that there was a really big library in heaven.

I wonder what sort of cataloging system they use. I hope it's not SuDoc.
