I really enjoyed Zachary’s “On Fire” duology, and so happily picked up another of the author’s work. This novella definitely falls into the erotic romance category (more sex than plot) just as those stories did. There is a heavy dose of piping hot, explicit sex. However, just as those books had a not so typical couple (a significant age gap between characters), this story does as well which gives it something special. Though this isn’t a full novel, the two main characters are show more developed enough to make them believable and get a reader invested in their romance.
Lyle is a workaholic stockbroker with a closet full of designer clothes and a talent for making money. But, he works 14 hour days and has no love life to speak of. Rupert is a construction worker who romes free on his Harley as the seasons change, has no permanent home and liked camping. On his regular morning run through the park, Lyle crosses paths with Rupe and an unexpected attraction soon blossoms into romance. But how can these two men reconcile such diverse lives?
Lyle and Rupe have unbelievably different lives, and while opposites attract, it’s hard to build a life with no common ground unless someone changes who they are. And that does a disservice to a well-built character. However, what made this story special is that the author doesn’t take the easy way out. There are unconventional relationships that can work for people in really in love and willing to give a little. Another bonus is that the story has a lot of humor as well. When Rupe takes Lyle camping – with no cell phone!!! Ah!! – it’s quite funny. As a person who is happy to leave Nature alone as long as she returns the favor, I completely identified with Lye’s predicament. There is tenderness in the story, and a welcome lack of angst. Not that the men don’t have doubts about how things will turn out, but there wasn’t any unnecessary drama or hand-wringing. They are mature characters who are know who they are.
Though the cover is bleh, thankfully the story was very well done. Recommended for fans of erotic romance. show less

The sex in this book could singe the page! It's frequent without being repetitive, especially with Sam-the-Energizer Bunny. This is a great example of erotica that is also romance. In between the steamy scenes, we have two men trying to deal with what was supposed to be a one night stand becoming much more. Robert isn't that much younger than Sam's father, and Sam has never been in a committed relationship before. There friends don't exactly move in the same social circles (Sam isn't even show more old enough to drink!). They fumble their way around these obstacles, of course, giving readers the prerequisite "happily ever after", but without having an utterly predictable ending. Highly recommended!

Uh... I don't think anyone will be surprised to know that this is basically 200 pages of smex. It's a wonder that these guys ever take the time to do anything else - like indulging in hobbies or pursuing new interests. Seriously. I'm not joking.
However, this still appealed to my enjoyment for reading about established couples, as Sam and Robert try to find a more secure footing in their small community - where obviously the love and desire have not diminished one bit. Not even a little. show more Nope.
You've been warned. Enjoy. show less

I decided I needed a book that wasn't that heavy, angsty or dark and boy, did I make the right choice.
The characters: Sam, bouncy, wiggly sex kitten. Robert, a "mountain of a man" firefighter. These guys are great fun. There's a fairly substantial age difference between them, but they make it work. The sex is frequent...very, very frequent lol, but also very hot. And so often these things deteriorate into PWP,. I'll admit that I was a little apprehensive of this in the beginning, but lucky show more for me, this wasn't the case.
Instead I was left with a great entertaining, sexy story with super hot characters that just hit all the right buttons for me. show less
