The Killer Book of Infamous Murders: Incredible Stories, Facts, and Trivia from the World's Most Notorious Murders by Tom Philbin
It was an interesting look at a few of the infamous crimes occurring in America, but I have read better. I recommend it more for the digressions and sidenotes than most of the major articles. Though the one on Leopold and Loeb stands out as a high point.

This was very interesting, though not very deep. If you're looking for a thought-provoking analysis of crimes, look elsewhere. If you're looking for some thrills and entertainment though, you're right on the money, and the authors say in the intro that their goal is to entertain. The book covers a wide range of crimes with many detailed stories (some of them quite funny) that I haven't seen elsewhere. I did spot a few minor errors, though.
The Killer Book of True Crime: Incredible Stories, Facts and Trivia from the World of Murder and Mayhem (The Killer Books) by Tom Philbin
This was a very quick read, full of information about well-known and lesser-known crimes and criminals. I have never even read some of the facts about a few of the more well-known criminals in the book before. Some of the details in the book are not for the faint of heart, such as the autopsy reports of Nicole Brown Simpson and JonBenet Ramsey, but I still recommend reading this for all true crime lovers.
Killer Book of Cold Cases: Incredible Stories, Facts, and Trivia from the Most Baffling True Crime Cases of All Time by Tom Philbin
This was my first time reading this author and I am glad that I did!
I thought this book was very good and it covered crimes that I have heard about, but there were some that I hadn't. The book also contains some trivia (Q&A) after each case which lets the reader try to answer questions that maybe they know or think they know. The book was a little different then most crime books, but I thought it was very informative on the cases. There are other books by this author and I after reading show more this book, I am going to try and track them down. Three stars for this one. show less
