- Cherry Wilkinson was born on 30 March 1951 in Cape Town, South Africa. In her early 20's, she moved halfway across the globe from South Africa to the United States. She settled in beautiful San Francisco, where she started what eventually became a thriving interior design business, before deciding to channel her creativity into writing full time. When asked why she chose to write romance, she says, "There simply aren't enough happy endings in the world and I wanted to create a few more for people to enjoy." When not glued to her computer or reading, the former RITA finalist can be found puttering around her flower garden performing snailacide. Popular on the workshop circuit, she gives lively classes on writing and the writing life. Pulling no punches when asked how to become a published writer.
Cherry currently lives in western Washington and collects teapots and books. Lots of books. With their two grown daughters out of the nest, she and husband David have lived under the dominance of their feline T.C. (Temporary Cat), for 10 years, and have recently acquired a perfect black schnauzer puppy, Max. Their dream house finally complete, she loves to spend time at home. A corner desk keeps her focused on writing, but the windows behind her, with a panoramic view of the front gardens, are always calling her to come outside and play. - Nationality

I was expecting pure romantic suspense when I picked up this book, so I was pleasantly surprised to learn it had a heavy paranormal slant. It took me about a chapter to really get into the story, but once Kess's POV came across, I was hooked. I adored Kess. She's got tons of attitude, and she's not afraid to go after what she wants. She perplexes the heck out of poor Simon, who has no idea how to handle a woman like her but sure wants to learn. This was a quick read, and kept me entertained show more throughout. I'm really looking forward to reading more books in this series, and more work by Cherry Adair. show less
A little unusual anthology - four different authors with four different short stories, all themed around an agency where the female owner has determined to save other female victims from the bad guys, in situations where the regular police can't handle the job. All four stories tie back to the agency, find a way to work in Christmas/Santa, and are scorching hot romantic suspense stories.
SNOWBALL'S CHANCE - Cherry Adair
Kendall Metcalf has been the only survivor of a crazy but smart serial show more killer, who's escaped prison and is en route to finish the job. She's snowed in on site at a big house/party site, when Joe Zorn arrives to protect her. Kendall is a sexy and spunky heroine, and Joe is wonderfully sexy, but the whole thread about him previously having been married to the woman whose house Kendall is in, seemed kind of bizarre and unnecessary.
SANTA SLAVE - Leanne Banks
Hilary Winfree believes a college student she's been mentoring has been kidnapped by a sex slave ring, so arranges to get herself "hired" by them as well. Rick "Chameleon" Santana arrives to buy/rescue Hilary, and ends up being talked into trying to find/rescue Christine, the college student, as well.
BIG, BAD SANTA - Pamela Britton
Dr. Kaitlyn Logan, a vet, has recently applied for grants for her pet project, an implanted microchip for endangered birds that could be used to direct them towards safe areas and away from dangerous ones. Some of the bad guys have gotten wind of this, realizing a) it could work, and b) it could be used as a military weapon. As her clinic is being tear-gassed, Chase Owens rides to the rescue, literally, on a Harley. Loved the sequence where she is having a wet dream about him and he is observing her.
KILLER CHRISTMAS - Kelsey Roberts
Meghan Beckham, a poor little rich girl CEO of a Palm Beach department store has survived a car accident that killed her brother, but now it looks like someone is out to get her. Or Santa Claus, since those employed by the store to fill that role have been ending up dead. Jack Palmer arrives to serve as her bodyguard, and she's not an easy client.
All the stories are very good, very well-written, and hotter than a Christmas fireplace. My main beef is that by the fourth story, the meme of "Oh, no, I *mustn't* get physically involved with the woman I'm guarding, it would be so unprofessional and could put her in greater danger," and then he fills her stocking anyway, over and over again, gets a little old. show less

Hush by Cherry Adair
I won this book in a GR First-reads giveaway, and now I'm wishing I hadn't, because now I have to wait for the next book to come out. I like it much better when I discover a series after it's finished or at least after several books have been published. *sigh*
But aside from my personal impatience, I loved this book. I'm not sure if I've read anything else by Adair, but I'll be checking out her other books. I read a lot and the majority of that is romance, so it's refreshing to see someone show more put a different spin on things. A one-night stand turns into a fight for life when Zak and Acadia are kidnapped along with Zak's brother. I love that the twists and turns were unpredictable, and I certainly don't want to give anything away.
I have one issue with the ending, but I'm really hoping that will somehow be resolved later in the series. (I'm not giving away any secrets. You'll know when you read it.) show less

Not really a spoiler, since it happens within the first 20 pages.
The first sex scene is super rapey. She has ZERO relationship with the guy. She wakes up and he is already groping and kissing her.
I put the book down after that.
In what world is it okay to write a scene that makes a dude pawing an unconscious woman look hot. And she DID try to make it hot. Tally was super into it and never like "Dude, I'm sleeping, why are you trying to rape me?"
I just...couldn't with this book.
The first sex scene is super rapey. She has ZERO relationship with the guy. She wakes up and he is already groping and kissing her.
