Collection of supernatural stories with a framework mostly lives up to its classic billing, with Redgrave's performance especially good in the tale of a ventriloquist losing control over his dummy. Lots of other good actors and familiar faces, including the always interesting Googie Withers. We need more people named Googie.
A bank employee plans the robbery of gold bars.
3/4 (Good).
It's not great as a comedy, but it's pretty fun as a heist movie.

I've seen this movie more time than I can count, and in a very depressing setting; it was the only movie aviable when my sister was in hospital. I still really like it, which says something. Kevin Kline does stupid crook like no one else. Never call him stupid!
2023 movie #53. 1951. Funny British crime caper. Mild mannered bank clerk (Guinness) masterminds a scheme to steal gold bars from his bank, melt them down, cast them into Eiffel Tower souvenirs and send them to France. Hijinks ensue. Audrey Hepburn makes a brief appearance.
