Hilarious compilation; very often, these don't work very well, but since Rigg herself has much experience on the stage (and one or two entries in the book), her asides and commentary are as valuable as the brickbats thrown here. Recommended.
In No Turn Unstoned Diana Rigg has collected negative reviews of playwrights, plays, actors, productions and performances over the last few centuries, though most, of course, from the twentieth century. Entertaining as these are to read, too many at once would pall, so the book is best enjoyed in small doses in those otherwise intellectually barren intervals while waiting for the final stages of digestion to complete themselves.
DIana Rigg compiled as delightful collection of scathing reviews. No one cares about reading good reviews expept the actor and his mother. It's the bad ones that are the most fun and these are guaranteed to amuse. The remarkable ways critics find to skewer their subjects prove the extent of the human imagination.
An extremely funny collect of bad theater notices. MACBETH excerpt had me in tears.
