This is quite possibly one of the most generic fantasy novels I've ever read. Here;s the plot:
The Evil Overlord (Karas Duren) finds some magical rings that will enable him to conquer the world. One of the rings is stolen and ends up in the hands of The Boy With A Destiny (Mathew Lewin). He is Forced to go on the run after he faces murder charges for Avenging His Father's Death. This also enables him to escape from the Evil Monsters (Orlocks) that are searching for the Ring. He is joined by show more several Friends including The Wise Mentor (Father Thomas), The Spunky Love Interest (Lara Palmer), and The Wise-Cracking Sidekick (Collin Miller). Eventually the party intersect with the Great Battling Armies and somehow defeat The Evil Overlord and bring peace to the world. But for how long? (There's a whole trilogy.)
While it sounds like the 2nd and 3rd volumes may be better than this, I probably won't be looking for them. This book was just too generic for me to want to do so. show less
