Hans Alfredson (1931–2017)

Läst (om) i brist på en faktisk trädgård. Det ligger ett vackert zenlugn mellan raderna i Hasses stilla tokigheter här, och hans brasa var om inte störst så åtminstone sprakigast. Att det har gått några decennier sedan 1961 tar inte udden av det (något enstaka skämt åsido).

Alfredson’s method, to describe the events from several different points of view is – if not original – pretty exciting. But he doesn’t use the potential all the way. In the parts where the plot is progressed by a voice talking into a dictaphone, it would be interesting to follow that mans confused thoughts more in depth. The author has concentrated only to drive the story forward, no portraits of characters worth mentioning, which would have risen the impression of this show more novel.

Alfredsons grepp att beskriva händelseförloppet ur flera synvinklar är -om än inte orginellt - ganska spännande. Men han utnyttjar inte potentialen till fullo. I de avsnitt där handlingen förs framåt mha en röst som talar i en diktafon skulle det t ex vara intressant att följa mannens förvirrade tankar lite mer ingående. Författaren har enbart koncentrerat sig på att hela tiden få historien att framskrida, inga omgivande karaktärsporträtt värt namnet, vilket skulle höjt intrycket av denna roman. show less

It’s a fascanating idea they have had, the old men. I’m sure they have had very good times on their meetings, bit I am not so sure if anyone really benefits from the publications of the texts at hand.

The text on the backside of the book promises stories (for pleasure”. I’d rather designate them “indifferent”, it doesn’t matter if you’ve read them or not.
