The Welsh Peaks: a Pictorial Guide to Walking in This Region and to the Safe Ascent of Its Principal Mountain Groups by W. A. Poucher
This, and others by Poucher, were indispensible guides in their day. This copy has been carried up (and has guided me up) many of the mountains in Wales, most of them several times. It is now water stained with pages loose and stuck together, but, by golly, what memories we share! Poucher showed the way to write guides to all who came after (and I include Wainwright in that group).
The Scottish peaks: A pictorial guide to walking in this region and to the safe ascent of its most spectacular mountains by W. A. Poucher
Bought for a walking holiday in Scotland in the '70s, this guide was an indispensible companion on a life affirming adventure.
