Good fluff. Frankie and Eli are moderately interesting characters; the situation is rather silly, though I would like to read more of the series - Harry Hunt trying to matchmake for the young folk around him. I think, from what's said in this book, that's he's failed every time - but they've ended up happily married, just not to who he'd picked. That's what happens here - Frankie decides the only way to ward off her "uncle" is to appear taken, and enlists a man who's regarded as a confirmed show more bachelor. Turns out, much to both of their surprise, he was just waiting for her (and vice versa). Good characterization, including the secondary characters; good description; fun fluff. show less
Victoria has come to stay with her aunt and uncle in Colson, Montana for 6 months to a year to improve her health. She has severe allergies worsened by the level of stress caused by her overwork as an attorney at a large law firm. Quinn Bowdrie and his brother own a ranch and have reputations of being wild. There is a lot of sexual tension, but it goes nowhere since Quinn has low self-esteem when it comes to women. This is caused by a bad family history. Their story was believable and the show more secondary characters were real. The wicked stepmother was the only over the top character. show less
Again, good characterization, good story, good reasons. He got off way too easily on the pretend breakup, though. And even if I didn't know there was another book, I'd know the story wasn't finished - enormous loose ends lying around in several places. In general Chase had it too easy - Luke and Jessie both had to deal with the feud, he only has her worry over whether his parents blame her for her mother's actions - easily dispelled. Good setup though - good reason for her to come to him in show more the first place. show less
Oh, I like. This is the fourth - and as far as I know, last - of the CastleRock series. I know the McFaddens, but Josh has always been on the outskirts. This story shows him very nicely. His crazy trick of a 'sham' marriage, and how he regretted it when he woke up, is a great starter. One thing I like about this series is that the couples tend not to pretend with each other - in this case, Josh and Katherine admit their attraction and decide to hold it in abeyance - and fail, of course. show more Though I don't see why he told her to get the divorce, near the end. It's not like it would make any difference. Silly boy. And the delighted stuntmen are a great touch. I laughed a lot reading this - it's _fun_. Not as good as Sunday Kind of Love, but that one is special - this one's _nearly_ that good. show less
