After her mother's death, twelve-year-old Crista can't seem to please her father, but she finds some comfort in her artwork and with a teenage couple and two dogs she discovers living in the nearby woods.
The author looks at the stories of a number of Biblical figures--ones who had curveballs thrown into their lives and ministries--and shows how they overcame those to stand firm in their faiths.
Great fictional book about God, heaven, angels, creation, and interesting ideas about worship. While it not a theological work, it is great and interesting fiction that makes you think about life.

When Christa's cousin Sarah comes for a visit, she seems to do everything better than Christa, until they go hiking and Christa's father is knocked unconscious in a fall.
