This is an excellent and visual guide for budding jewelry makers who wish to move on to advanced jewelry making. The book covers 31 of the most common jewelry techniques including casting, hammering, enamelling, doming, engraving, patinating, soldering and riveting. Each section is carefully explained showing the tools needed and well illustrated with many photographs. Overall, one gains a greater appreciation of the skills involved to make truly one of a kind jewelry.
There's a lot of good stuff here, and it's pretty up-to-date, but the organization is a tad weird,
A good book, but it can't substitute for actually sitting at the bench & being an apprentice. It does have some really nice instructions and pictures. Those interested in beading will be disappointed - this book is for bench jewelers only!

This is an excellent book because the layout and information is very clear and easy to follow. I go to silver jewelry making classes and am setting up my own workshop at home and found this book very useful as a reminder of what I need to do when I get stuck. HIghly recommended
