This handy book of grills is especially useful for South Africans since our climate allows us to braai outdoors the whole year round: it does not contain any local favourites like sosaties or ribbetjies - instead it is another look at different kinds of foods that can be made on the grill.
It has a handy section on techniques which includes advice on how to grill, the preparation of marinades, and ideas fior relishes, as well as basic reciped for fish and shellfish, chicken and meat, show more vegetarian dishes and pasta.
Instead of boerewors and chops, next time you braai, why not consider one of the following? Teriyaki trout, grilled sardines, chicken with lime and herb, yogurt chicken, grilled spiced chicken, thai chicken breasts, grilled beef steaks, kebabs, koftas, or beefburgers?
And if you're a vegetarian, not to worry - you are well catered for since the book also gives directions for not only vegetarian sausages, but grilled brie, vegetable kebabs, corn, pepper and olives.
Sizzling ideas indeed and the food will indeed be healthy - I don't know about 'fast' though, no braai I have ever attended has belaboured the speed issue. Maybe because men are doing the cooking? Women spend hours in the kitchen preparing nourishing meat and four veg. For a braai, they do salads and vegetables and marinades and relishes and rolls and snacks but the 'chef' is usually the man, and he wants his moments of glory to last longer than the mere ten minutes required! show less

A small sample of stories of saints with representative artwork and their feast day. Not very inclusive and not all illustrations have proper citations. Interesting Christian mythology, but more information can be found elsewhere of better quality.
