I never knew that sled dogs had so many existential concerns!

This graphic novel was delightful. Cleverly written, beautifully illustrated, and well... just damn fun. I enjoyed the pack dynamics and the groan worthy punch lines. Reading the book in the library I did end up laughing out loud.

Quite fun, quite entertaining, and a very quick read. Four stars.
Being a graphic novel featuring a sled dog team whose members have a go at expressing their professional, personal, and, at times, philosophical goals. The book has been compared to an office situation comedy (fair enough--the author is a television writer) and most of the humor is typical of the genre. When the dogs get a little philosophical (e.g., when their worrying about their inability to understand their humans breaks out into a discussion which sounds a lot like humans discussing the show more nature of God) or when the interesting plot gets rolling is when the book is at its most interesting. It takes a little time, and a little concentration, to distinguish the dogs from each other, but as that happens, the book becomes very interesting. show less

The first half of this is mostly just parodying the two modes of a sled dog: being on a run and wishing they were on a run. It's funny at first, but then it gets a little redundant. When another dog stages a coup to take over the lead dog position, things get a lot more interesting.
Charming little pooch narrative. Interesting perspectives, human and canine respectively.
