Since this is one of my favorite musicals, it wasn't any surprise that I enjoyed reading the script. The story of a man who goes mad and tries to save the world, to the amusement and scorn of those around him. Reading song lyrics is often difficult for me, but I know these songs so well I was able to read them with no problem, which is good, because a substantial portion of the story is included in the songs. No disappointments here. Good solid pleasure.

One of the few musicals that reads extremely well on the page (as long as you know the songs and can sing or hum along in your head as you read).
T/FB: 2021 movie #220. Douglas and Curtis are Vikings vying for the hand of British princess Leigh (Curtis' actual wife at the time). Borgnine is a fierce Viking king, who laughs a lot. Not too bad and the 6th highest grossing movie of 1958.
