The unlikely combination of Alligators and Music proves to be harmonious indeed. One by one, each instrument in the orchestra gives an account of itself in the first person. These self-descriptions seem to be a combination of the characteristics of the instruments and those who tend to play them. Each instument is depicted visually as if it is being played or held by an alligator. Each alligator is in eighteenth-century court dress, very much as one might see in the orchestra in the time of show more Haydn or Mozart. Besides being humorous, the book is actually informative for young readers. show less
